Greeting and Blessing:
I duly received your letter of October 12th which reached me in these auspicious days before the Festival of our Rejoicing, May G-d grant that you and all yours should indeed enjoy a truly happy Yom Tov and extend the Simcha into the whole year. True Simcha is, of course, one that is permeated with the spirit of Torah and Mitzvoth, which is also indicated by the fact that the Season of our Rejoicing culminates with Simchas Torah - Rejoicing with the Torah. Moreover, the Festival of Rejoicing begins with the Mitzvo of Succah which has the special significance of being a Mitzvo which envelops the whole person from head to foot, including such ordinary activities as eating, drinking, etc., all of which are sanctified by this all-encompassing Mitzvo. The inference is obvious.
Wishing you and yours a happy Yom Tov, and hoping to hear good news from you,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
