As we approach Pesach when many buy new dishes, we found it necessary to elaborate on the halohos of Tevilas Keilim, in general and in detail.
1. One who buys metal or glass dishes to be used at meals, from a non-Jew, even new ones, must tovel them in a mikveh or spring containing 40 so’oh (שו"ע יו"ד סי' ק"כ ס"א ) to elevate them from the tum’oh of akum to the kedushoh of Jews (ט"ז סק"א ).
