Bar Mitzvah and Tefillin Reflections
When a bar mitzva bochur would go in to the Rebbe for yechidus, in connection with his bar mitzva, the Rebbe would invariably ask him questions in learning. Frequently, the Rebbe would test the bochur on his bar mitzva pshetel.
Now, these days, with so many volumes of likutei sichos available, and numerous sichos about the mitzva of tefillin (or other subjects connected to a bar mitzva), the pilpul will often be based on a sicha. But, back then, when this was not yet an option, many bar mitzva pshetels were taken from the Shaagas Aryeh.
