Wholehearted and unblemished, completely focussed on לדעת את 'ה בלבד.
Two chassidim were talking once, and they were discussing the coming of Moshiach. “What do you think it will be like when Moshiach comes?” one asked his friend.
The second chosid replied: “When Moshiach comes, we will wake up in the morning, un men vet zich shtellen davenen, un ess vet zich davenen” [we will ready ourselves to daven, and we will be able to daven!].
And this is something we don’t have to wait idly for Moshiach for. While we can’t fully reach that level of perfection while in golus, we can start experiencing it right away. Our learning and our davening should be in a Moshiach’dige manner, in a geula’dige manner. As the Rebbe told us: we need to “taste” the experience of Moshiach in advance, by living lives of ahavas Yisroel, for example, not just as a way to bring Moshiach, but as a way of beginning to live in a manner of geulah already now.
Of course, the means to achieve this we all know very well; - by learning the subject of geulah and Moshiach in Torah. We all heard that many times, and, assumedly, we already know that. But we have to bring it more into practice. The only way to make our avodas Hashem now begin to reflect the geulah, is by changing our mindset from a golus mindset to a geulah mindset. And the only way to change our mindset, to alter our outlook, is by studying intensely and deeply the subject of Moshiach.
Now, as we just commemorated 30 years since the famous sicha of chof ches Nissan, and the further elucidation in the following weeks and especially the farbrengen of tazria metzora, it is a time for us to make serious hachlotos – and implement them – to increase our study of the subject of Moshiach.
Look up some old friends, some relatives, some friends of relatives or some relatives of friends. And start a new shiur to delve into the concepts of Moshiach. Maybe it’s time to relearn all of the basic sichos that you thought you knew already. Regardless, there are plenty of new seforim and new collections that came out in recent years, and many new resources to make this project more achievable.
The main thing is – hamaaseh hu ho’ikar! Don’t put it off, until Moshiach already came, and then you’ll be stuck having to give him an explanation of what you were waiting for. Start right away, and let Moshiach come now and interrupt all of our shiurim to take us out of golus besimcha ubetov levov!
L’chaim! May we all follow the Rebbe’s directive to increase in learning about Moshiach and geulah, in kamus and in eichus, and may the Eibishter give us the best possible and clearest lesson about Moshiach and geulah, by bringing the immediate hisgalus of Moshiach Tzidkeinu NOW!!!
