A Segulah for Children

A Segulah for Children:

Sefer Toras Avos quotes the Yesod Ha’avodah of Slonim zy”a as saying that Shabbos Parshas Zachor is an auspicious time for childless people to be blessed with children. The reason for this is because the Torah uses the word “zechirah” to describe how Hashem remembered Rochel (Bereishis 30:22) and granted her children. Regarding Sarah, the pasuk uses the word “pakad” (ibid 21:1). Thus, both the word “zachor” and the word ‘pakad” relate to childless people having children, and both of these words are found in Parshas Zachor, with the word “zachor” found in the Torah reading and the word “pekadeti” found in the Haftorah.
