These allow the only son of the King, the Jewish people, to experience that which “No eye has ever seen,” the revelation of Hashem at the time of Moshiach!
Our Rebbe points out that for a person to go against Hashem, a “spirit of folly” must enter him, thus indicating that he lacks the intellectual power to overcome his foolish desires. Therefore, the Rebbe says, the prince must have been given intellectual powers [Chabad] even before leaving the palace in order to overcome the temptress--the impulse to evil. If so, what did he gain by receiving Chabad as a reward for passing the test?
The answer is, our Rebbe teaches, that there are two aspects to intellect.
- The intellect necessary to control and guide emotions. This is the intellect that we have been utilizing for thousands of years to carry out the “service of the heart.” It is symbolized by Israel conquering the seven nations of Canaan [which correspond to the seven emotive attributes].
- When the work of fixing the vessels of tohu [the source of “klipa”] is complete and all the holy sparks that fell have been elevated, we will receive the three new countries that Avraham was promised, the lands of Keni, Kenizi and Kadmoni. These represent the “essential intellect” mochin b’etzem – the three gifts the prince received after passing the test.
At that point, we will have the intellectual capacity to experience G-dliness and even perceive Hashem in the World to Come through the revelation of Moshiach.
The Rebbe adds that it is an impossible wonder [Nimna hanimos] that anything could “confuse” or somehow interfere with the Jewish soul, the only son of the King. It is just that the temptress, the evil impulse, has been given permission by Hashem, the King, to entice. Whenever we prevail, we give Hashem the ultimate in nachas. [SichaTruma 5734]

On Ches Cheshvan 5752, the Rebbe said that we can now begin the service of mochin b’etzem, meaning that we can now take the three new lands of Keni, Kenizi and Kadmoni, the intellectual capacity the prince received as his reward-- through learning deep Chassidus.
