The Yeshuos of Purim Come from the Closeness

Havineini | February 28, 2026

It is known that Purim is a day for yeshuos and a day for the acceptance of our tefillos. On this day, there’s an incredible shefa, and כל הפושט יד נותנים לו, everyone who stretches out his hand is granted. We can look at this phenomenon with a technical and superficial view: I needed a yeshuah and I received it. Until now it didn’t go, and now it finally went.

But the truth is different. The auspiciousness of this day for tefillah and yeshuah is an expression of the closeness between Hashem and His children that is revealed on this day. The yeshuos don’t come because we placed a quarter into the machine and out came a prize... rather, our intimacy with Hashem is so great on this day that we become open with one another. The Ribbono shel Olam says, “We’re so close... and if you ask for something with kirvas Elokim, I will answer you with closeness.” This is the real reason why Purim brings yeshuos. Indeed, the Megillah mentions the words אם מצאתי חן בעיניך המלך regarding Esther, who represents Klal Yisrael, in a few places—because this is a day in which we find Divine Favor.
