Astrological Significance of Kislev and the Rainbow

The astrological sign for Kislev is Keshes, the Bow (Sagittarius). Indeed, the first rainbow which was seen in the sky after the Flood appeared in the month of Kislev.

Noach emerged from the ark on the 28th of Cheshvan. He then built a mizbe’ach (altar) and offered korbanos upon it. This took place during the last days of Cheshvan.

When Kislev began, HaShem blessed Noach, permitted the eating of meat, forbade the shedding of human blood, then struck a covenant with Noach and showed him the rainbow.
