Boundaries are essential, especially in this generation. Reb Dov Yafo said that Yiddishkeit can't be viewed as אסור אסור אסור, that everything is forbidden. We need to generate in our children a positive view of Yiddishkeit. We must show them how good and sweet Yiddishkeit is. They shouldn't consider it stifling or limiting. Children should be taught that boundaries and limitations are for their good. They are like gates protecting a great treasure for us.
The roshei teivos of ישראל is: תורה ל ותיותא בואר ישיםש שי, “There are 600,000 letters in the Torah”. Each member of ישראל בני is represented by a letter of the Torah. The letters of a sefer Torah need to be separated with white parchment (גויל מוקף). The white parchment hints at the boundaries, limits, and precautions the Jewish nation accepts for themselves so that they will remain within the realm of kedushah.
