Deliberately, Patiently
41. Pesukei d’Zimra should be said patiently, not hurriedly (שו''ע סי' נ''א ס''ח ). One should not skip or slur a word; each word should be pronounced clearly, as if one is counting money (מ''ב סק''כ ) [like a regular person counting money, not a moneychanger...]. The Beis Din shel Maalah puts into cherem anyone who says songs and praises hurriedly, without pronouncing the words fully and clearly (קב הישר פל''ד ).
Kavana for פותח את ידיך
42. One must have kavana for the pasuk “פותח את ידיך ,” which praises Hashem for His watching over and supporting His creations. If one did not have kavana, he must say it again (שו''ע שם ס''ז ).
43. Until the end of the kapitel. When one repeats it, he must repeat the pasuk “פותח את ידיך וכו'” and continue from there through the end of the kapitel (לבוש, חיי אדם, מ''ב שם סקט''ז ). If there is time before Yishtabach, one should repeat it then; if not, he should repeat it after davening (שם ).
44. Just that pasuk. However, many poskim hold that just the pasuk “פותח את ידיך וכו'” needs to be repeated, and there is no need to continue through the end of the kapitel (א''ר סק''ו, מג''א סק''ו, פמ''ג, שו''ע הרב ס''ח ). According to this, one can repeat it right away, as it does not take time.
