Brisker Rav - Rabbi Yitzchok Zev Soloveitchik (1886-1959), Brisk, Yerushalayim; The Gry”z of Brisk. Son of R’ Chaim Soloveitchik. After fleeing the Holocaust, re-established Brisk yeshiva in Jerusalem and educated students as his father did – the Brisker method, in which laws are broken down into precise components, which can then be assembled into new combinations, creating novel halachic possibilities which perhaps a person should be strict to follow or avoid. Leader of Charedi community in Israel.
