People Learning Rambam Makes Gemara Clear

Living Moshiach | June 27, 2025

Rabbi Eliyahu Yonah Benyaminson

We just celebrated the completion of a cycle of learning the book of the Rambam (Rabbi Maimonides) as per the instruction of the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita to learn three chapters, or one chapter, or the “Book of Mitzvos” every day, in unity with Jews around the world who are learning the same portion. This book collects the entire Oral Torah into a clear book of practical conclusions from all the discussions of the Gemara.

Someone told me that he would learn a lot of Gemara, but there were many things that he never understood. Then he started learning Rambam on the cycle that the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita instructs. Suddenly he found that many of the difficult things in the Gemara were becoming clear to him, as a result of this study!

I find this with myself, too. If I don’t understand something I am learning or teaching in Gemara, I look it up in the Rambam, especially the “Rambam La’am” edition with explanations, which the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita uses for his majesty’s own Rambam study! It really helps me understand the Gemara.
