הָדְקוֹמ לַע הָלֹעָה אוִה הָלֹעָה תַרוֹתּ תאֹז רֹמאֵל ויָנָבּ תֶאְו ןֹרֲהַא תֶא וַצ
:וֹבּ דַקוּתּ ַחֵבְּזִמַּה שֵׁאְו רֶקֹבַּה דַע הָלְיַלַּה לָכּ ַחֵבְּזִמַּה לַעויקרא פ" ופ"ב
Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the Torah of the burnt offering; It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night to the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it. {Shemos 6:2}
The letter מ in the word מוקדה (“on the flame”) is small, to indicate that the fiery zeal that a Jew must have for his Avodas Hashem should be withהצנע ל סכ, modesty. He must have a fire for Hashem {G-D}, even if not evident to the public.
Reb Menachem Mendel of Kotzk
This was the way of Kotzk. Whereas in Karlin, Davening out loud and with exposed enthusiasm is customary; The Beis Aharon of Karlin once said, "We don’t instruct the Yungerleit [young men] to shout; they start Hodu [beginning of Pesukei DiZimroh] and it screams from itself !"
