Guidance Old and Energetic

Living Moshiach | December 10, 2025

Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Hecht was an emissary to New Haven, Connecticut. He was energetically busy with the management of the Chabad institutions that he established until the last day of his life. We learn from his example, as symbolized in his name. Moshe (Moses) lived for 120 years, a complete life. Yitzchok (Isaac) lived for 180 years, a long life. There are those who feel that after they have worked and accomplished a lot (symbolized by 120 years), it is time to rest. Others continue to work, but as something extra, not with the same energy that they put into the absolutely necessary work. And still others continue to work and accomplish in the same way that they did the absolutely necessary work. Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Hecht was like this. He wasn’t satisfied with his previous accomplishments; he continued to be busy with his work with the same energy, liveliness and joy until his last day, as seen by the questions about his institutions that the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita got from him.
