And this is the meaning of the verse: “Voeira El Ho’Ovos”, where ‘Vo’Eira’ is both in the past tense and in the present, because the ‘Avodah’ of the ‘Ovos’ in the three areas of Love, Fear and Mercy, exist in each and every Jewish person till the end of all generations.
And we can even say that not only does the essence of the Ovos’ ‘Avodah’ in the three areas of Love, Fear and Mercy exist in each and every Jewish person till the end of all generations, but also the Divine revelation to which the Ovos were privy (as the verse states: Voeira El Ho’Ovos) also exists in every single Jewish person until the end of all generations.
However, the Ovos still lack something; as the Possuk continues: וּשְמִי ה׳ לֹא נוֹדַעְתִי לָהֶם “with My name ‘Havaye’, I did not become known to them”. There was no revelation of this Divine name (Havaye) to the ‘Ovos’. Only to Moshe does it say: לָכֵן אֱמֹר לִבְנֵי יִשְרָאֵל אֲנִי ה׳ “Therefore, say to the B’nei Yisroel, 'I am Havaye”, and that through Moshe there was a revelation of this Divine name ‘Havaye’ at the giving of the Torah. This novel aspect also exists in all Jewish people; this is because the Torah, which was given through Moshe at ‘Matan Torah’, is also bequeathed hereditarily, as the Possuk states: תוֹרָה צִוָּה לָנוּ מֹשֶה מוֹרָשָה קְהִלַת יַעֲקֹב “The Torah that Moshe commanded us is an inheritance for the congregation of Yaakov”. Thus, the Torah is passed through the generations via inheritance to each and every Jew.
