Rashi says that Makkas B'choros was equal to all the Makkos put together. Why? Weren’t all the Makkos loaded with people dying, and suffering without end? We can suggest that since it says by Makkas B'choros: כֻּלָ נוּ מֵ תִ ים יב לג “We are ALL dying” (since there were “multiple” firstborns in each house. Rashi) it revealed the Treife lifestyle of a Mitzri, i.e., where a woman sins with so many men, that the whole family is full of Bechorim (firstborns)!
The embarrassment of the Mitzri'im, and the revelation of their ugly and disloyal private life, is equal to all the: גֵ מַ פוֹת plagues together. And this is the most important lesson for Klal Yisroel, i.e., how eventually the truth of a person’s life will come out in public. The Makkos were all lessons, and now, Makkas B'choros is the greatest lesson. מִ דָ ה טוֹבָ ה מְ רוּבָ ה How much more is this true in a positive way! Just like all the hidden evils of people’s lives will someday surface, and they will get punished with what they deserve, the same is true with our hidden positive qualities!
All our unsung heroes. All those holy Yiddishe Neshamos who wish they would be more Torah’dik, and have more Kedusha and Middos Tovos. All those wishes and desires are live Mitzvos, and real Malachei Rachamim who are priceless treasures for each individual. In the world of truth, good Mach'shavos and Retzonos are powerful Zechusim that can be much more Chashuv than all the Ma’asim Tovim that a person does.
The pain people have because of their sins can be Kodesh Kodoshim, as long as they keep trying and are not Mya'esh.
