THE WEEKLY PARSHA:
Although the weekly פרשה is not chosen to be read specifically on a certain שבת (we start with בראשית in the beginning of the year, and continue reading the פרשיות in order), there is always a connection between the פרשת השבוע and the ______ of year in which it is read.
QUESTION:
כ"ד טבת, the יארצייט of the אלטער רבי, usually comes out to be during the week of פרשת וארא. What is the _______________ between them?
ANSWER:
The first name of the אלטער רבי is שניאור, meaning two ________. As the בעל שם טוב foretold, the אלטער רבי illuminated both נגלה, revealed parts of תורה, as well as נסתר, the hidden parts of תורה. In נגלה, the אלטער רבי wrote his ______ ______, and in נסתר, the אלטער רבי wrote the ______. The very word וארא alludes to these two lights as well. וארא includes the letters that make up the word אור, plus one more א. The word אור that is spelled out clearly, refers to the ___________ light, נגלה. The letter א is only a hint to the _________ light, נסתר.
Further discussion:
Where do we see the idea of אור in the Alter Rebbe’s teaching of חסידות חב"ד and in the way he wrote his שלחן ערוך? (See אות ג in the שיחה)
