Kfar Chabad – A Unique Picture

Missed opportunity to visit Kfar Chabad; the village’s unique and impactful atmosphere; lesson from Chassidim coming from behind the Iron Curtain.

Blessing and Greeting:

I was pleased to receive your letter of August 1st, in which you write some of the highlights of your trip in the Holy Land as well as your impressions. It is a great pity that you have not had an opportunity to visit Kfar Chabad, since the settlement and its inhabitants and their way of life present a unique picture, and according to all reports, a visit to the Chabad village is full of surprises and lasting impressions. It is the only village in the Holy Land whose inhabitants are almost exclusively immigrants from behind the Iron Curtain, and though all of them were born and brought up under the Soviet regime, they remained steadfast in their loyalty to the Torah and Chassidic way of life. They are living witnesses of Jewish faith and determination, which overcome all obstacles and the most adverse conditions. Who knows, perhaps you will again have an opportunity to visit the Holy Land, in good health and joy, when you will surely visit Kfar Chabad.

Having entered the auspicious month of Elul, when it is customary to wish one another a happy new year, I send you my prayerful wishes for the new year in every respect, especially in the area relating to your personal life.
With blessing
