Feeling lonely in a new neighborhood; the Ten Days of Repentance is a time when Jews draw closer to each other
By the Grace of G-d
4th of Tishrei, 5738
Brooklyn, N. Y.
Greeting and Blessing:
I am in receipt of your letter of Aug. 29th, and may G-d grant that your moving to your new place of residence should be in accordance with the saying of our Sages that, "a change of place brings a change of Mazel for good and blessing.”
With regard to your writing about your feeling lonely in your new place, it is to be hoped that this is only a temporary situation which is not unusual when one moves to a new district, and that very soon indeed you will make many friends, and good friends.
Now that we are in the auspicious days between Rosh Hashono and Yom Kippur, when, as our Sages say, it is the time of which it is written, “Seek G-d when He is easily found, call on Him when He is near," it is surely also a time when Jews are drawn closer to each other. May the new year which we have entered bring you the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good.
Wishing you and all yours a Chasimo u'Gmar Chasimo Tovo,
With blessing,
