5743 – 1983, during a farbrengen, the Rebbe explained that since the Jews living in the Soviet Union were experiencing the hardships of exile more intensely than their fellow Jews elsewhere, they are assured of an even greater redemption. He pointed out that he was sharing this message with Jews living in free countries so they would feel the suffering of their Russian brethren as if it were their own, continue to pray for them wholeheartedly, and ultimately be able to share in their joy as if it were their own as well.
