Now You Know

The Bnai Yissaschar, in his Maamar on Purim, quotes a tradition from the early Kabbalistic sages that the final battle against Amalek and their eradication will be on Erev Pesach.

It is placed before us that this will begin on Purim and end on the day before Pesach. These 720 hours are three times the numerical value of the word Amalek (240), to destroy them in thought, speech, and action.

A Midrash in the Yalkut Shimoni posits that in the year Moshiach arrives, the king of Persia will attack Arabia, who will consult with Aram (some say Edom), and Persia will destroy the whole world.

The leaders of the world will be cast into turmoil and be terrified. The Jews, too, will be terrified, but Hashem will say, “Why are you afraid? I’m doing this for you, and when this is over, you will not be beholden to the nations of the world ever again!”

These words well-preceded current events, but as we see Iran/Amalek fighting, let us know that Moshiach is just around the bend.

It’s time to prepare ourselves and make the most of our time.

Hachodesh

Hachodesh hazeh lachem, this is our time. Let us use it wisely to prepare, and come back to Hashem with all our hearts and souls.
