"Some time ago I witnessed a bus that suddenly stopped with the screeching of the brakes" - recounts the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Silberstein shlit"a of Mara Datra and Av Beit Din Dramat Elchanan B.B. - "A woman was standing inside the bus due to lack of seats, and as a result of the sudden stop, she fell and was hit hard, and finally died of her injuries.
Who caused this? It was a man crossing the road at a red light! This man – as horrible as it sounds, says Rabbi Silberstein Shlita explicitly – violated one of the most severe prohibitions in the Torah: "You shall not kill!"
Conclusion: You must never cross a red light!
