How to be "above" the silly people that "start up" with me and try to "pick fights"?

Answer:

Put them in their place! It's your own fault for being Mr. Nicey-nicey, so everyone thinks that they can just step all over you!(But have "rabbinic supervision"...)

I just heard a very powerful yisod (concept) from a heilige yid, who said as follows: "real" yidden are often gentle, easy-going people, whereas the "troublemakers" are often the "tougher" types (there are exceptions to this), which can create situations of the "troublemakers" being "on top," whereas the "real" yidden are "pushed around," as they are just trying to "keep out of trouble" and avoid machlokes (fighting).

So what's the solution? Take people out of the picture and put Hashem there instead, and expect miracles!
