On this date, a month after the Rebbetzin’s passing in 5748 (1988), the Rebbe introduced the “birthday campaign,” emphasizing the significance of one’s birthday. The Rebbe urged all Jews, young and old, to commemorate their birthdays through increasing in Torah, tefillah, and tzedakah and arranging a joyous farbrengen.
