One Point from Likkutei Sichos Parshas Vayechi

One Point | December 10, 2025

IN THE PARSHA:
Before his passing, ______ wanted to reveal to his children the “end of days”, meaning, the time of משיח’s coming.

QUESTION:

Since we now see that ______ would come so many years after יעקב and the שבטים passed away, what would be the point of telling them the time of the גאולה which would only come thousands of years later?

ANSWER:

The way יעקב saw it, the ________ was not that far off at all, and that is what he wanted to reveal to his children.
Had בני ישראל not sinned when they were in the מדבר, they would have left מצרים, received the תורה at הר סיני, entered ארץ ישראל, and served Hashem __________ in the eternal בית המקדש built by Hashem Himself.
יעקב wanted to reveal to his children:

  1. that the גאולה from מצרים was supposed to be the _____________ and final גאולה, and
  2. that they were able to make that גאולה come much sooner, if they are deserving.
(If the difficulty of the slavery allowed them to leave מצרים earlier than they thought they would, certainly increasing in their merits could bring it about even sooner).

Further discussion:

Why did Hashem not allow יעקב to reveal this to his sons? (See אותיות ו-ז in the Sicha)
