The pasuk states (Bereishis 41:51) that the name “Menashe” has a meaning of “forgetting.” Accordingly, Sefer Divrei Yisroel explains further that “hands” represent parnassah (as we see that earning a living is often called “yegias kapav”, handiwork). He thus explains that Yaakov crossing his hands is symbolic of someone seeking ways to earn a living.
The pasuk is thus saying that if one is searching for parnassah, he should “forget” all his grand ideas and place his bitachon solely in Hashem. He should remember that “Menashe is the bechor”, meaning that, first and foremost, he should forget his plans and rely on Hashem. And if one does this, he will find parnassah.
