Jewish children love the Mezuzah! They are naturally drawn to kiss the Mezuzah, raising their bodies to kiss the Mezuzah several times a day, especially right when they wake up and before they go to sleep.
When we put up a Mezuzah on the entrance of the home, and on the entrance of every room in the home, it is recognized that all the objects in the room, the entire room and the whole house belong to the One G-d.
The Mezuzah also affects the outside, as emphasized by the fact that we put up the Mezuzah at the entrance to the home and in the handbreadth by the outside.
We go out of the house to the outside permeated with the idea of the Mezuzah. Every time we go in and out, we encounter the oneness of G-d, and we bring that into our work of making the entire world into the “Land of Israel” – that the entire earth is noticeably connected to the Jewish People and the Torah; it is made into a home for G-d, blessed by He.
