Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer - Composed by Rabbi Eliezer ben Hyrcanus (1st-2nd century) during times of the Mishnah.

Rabbotai, we learned here that one oath, one treaty, that Avraham Avinu swore to affected generation after generation of his descendants. Three hundred and fifty years, a full seven generations later, their exit from Egypt had to be altered. Upon entering Eretz Yisrael, hundreds of additional years passed, and they could not violate the treaty despite the difficulty it caused them. This lasted until Shimshon, who began the dismantling of that treaty courtesy of the Plishtim breaking their commitment. אַחַר הַדְּ בָרִ ים הָאֵלֶּה וְהָאֱ -לֹהִ ים נִסָּה אֶ ת־אַבְ רָ הָם - Avraham Avinu’s toughest test was born from this treaty made with Avimelech, king of the Plishtim.

We ask Hakadosh Baruch Hu that the zechut of the Akeida generate rachamim for us today in overcoming all our difficulties and that He mercifully and speedily send us Mashiach Tzidkeinu.
