We started this week’s write-up by saying “in this week’s parsha we learn about the first bris seudah that took place in the history of the world”, the obvious question is, why was Avraham Avinu not the first person to have a bris seudah?
Perhaps the answer is based on the above. The Pirkei D’Rabbi Eliezer (Perek 29) says that Avraham Avinu’s bris took place on Yom Kippur. If we pasken that a bris seudah must take place on the day of a bris, then since Avraham Avinu’s bris took place on Yom Kippur, it wasn’t possible to have a seudah.
