The Abarbanel says that Yehuda left his brothers because they were so cruel to Yosef. Notice how he saved Yosef by saying: אָחִּ ינוּ בְׁ שָ רֵ נוּ הוּא לז כז he is our brother and flesh. Look at the warmth and love which fits a Melech like Yehuda. Since a Melech is: לֵ ב הָ עָ ם the heart of the entire nation (Rambam) he has a heart and feelings more than others. He is the extreme opposite of an Eisav-Melech who is called: אַ לוּף “Aluf” since he is “aloof” and not caring for others. (RSRH).
This is because the name Yehuda (Hoda'ah) means total thankfulness (and: יֶׁש לִּ י כֹל וישלח לג יא I have EVERYTHING) like Dovid who’s always singing. This is why the Orchos Chaim of the Rosh says that the main difference between Yidden and Goyim is Bitachon. The Baal Bitachon sees good even in bad times, since: כָל מַ אי דְׁ עָבֵיד רַ חְׁ מָ נָא לְׁ טַ ב עָבֵיד Whatever Hashem does, is surely best. A gentile can’t stand any Din, and he gets angry.
A person who is always happy and thankful, has room for others and he has a heart. His Simchas HaChaim spills over, and he is goodness itself. I heard this expression used on old Novardokers who were described as “Gutskeit Alien” (goodness itself). I heard this from a person who came to Novardok, and his uncle, who was a Novardoker, cared about every move he made. He took care of him like a father and a brother. How he slept and ate and learned. Who his friends were, etc. I remember his mentioning that his uncle told him that he should discard the fancy clothes that he wore, since “No Torah will come out of such a lifestyle”. (Of course, every person is different.)
