Antisemitism and Selective Reading

Novardok weekly | December 07, 2025

Question:

Antisemitism.

Answer:

Who told you to read negative news articles? The Surgeon General recommends keeping far away from any article that may leave you with any form of negative feelings and emotions. It's just not worth it! Skip to the positive ones—it's what Hashem wants! (Unless there is a specific positive benefit, so ask your rabbi). In Novardok they called it birur hamidos, and in other words: Only positive! Selective reading! Don't be such a tamim ("simple-one") that just "eats everything", positive and poisonous alike. Would you walk into a pharmacy and just start "popping pills"? What you read/hear/share/etc. is the same thing—so let's pick positive!
