Immersed in Torah and Tefillah

Immersed in Torah and Tefillah:

Sefer Divrei Yisroel asks further why it says that Hashem “gave him success in his hands.” Why doesn’t it simply say that Hashem gave him success?

He answers by quoting the Mishnah (Avos 2:2) that says: “It is good to have Torah together with working for a living.” One should use his hands to work, and his mouth to learn Torah. If one does so, he will see success in the work of his hands, as is stated (Tehillim 128:2): “If you eat the toil of your hands, you are praiseworthy, and it is good for you.” One should work with his hands, but his mouth should be used for Torah and tefillah, and that should be his primary occupation.

When it says that Potiphar saw that Yosef was granted success “with his hands”, it means that all the work he did to earn a living was done only with his hands, not with his mouth. His mouth was dedicated solely for Torah and tefillah. His mouth was used to constantly say the name of Hashem. When he saw this, he knew that Hashem was with him.
