Rabbeinu Nissim

Rabbeinu Nissim - 1320 – 1376 CE; R’ Nissim ben Reuven (The Ran) of Gerona was a Spanish rabbi, commentator, philosopher, and preeminent Spanish halachic authority. His commentaries to the Talmud and to Hilchot HaRif are central elements of a traditional yeshiva curriculum to this day. Was responsible for the establishment of the yeshiva and Beit Din in Barcelona.
