The Menorah Effect

Rebbe Responsa | December 31, 2025

As Jews increase in Torah observance like the growing Chanukah lights, G-d increases His blessings towards them in ways revealed and plain to see

By the Grace of G-d

Greeting and Blessing:

I duly received your letter of the 28th of Kislev, and, as requested, I will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart’s desires for good, when visiting the holy resting place of my father-in-law of saintly memory. May G-d grant that you should have good news to report.

Especially as we have all had the Zechus to pray together on Shabbos Chanukah. And you surely know that one of the basic messages of Chanukah is that as Jews increase the light of Torah and Mitzvoth in their personal lives and all around them, as symbolized by the lighting of the Chanukah Candles in growing numbers from day to day – HaShem increases His blessings in all their needs, both materially and spiritually. Moreover, the Mitzvo of Ner Chanukah is such that one can see with the physical eye how it lights up the home and surroundings, so that the blessing that this Mitzvo, and all Mitzvoth which it symbolizes, come from HaShem in a form that is revealed and evident and plain to see.

Receipt is enclosed for your Tzedoko, and may the Zechus of it bring you and all yours additional Divine blessings, including Hatzlocho in efforts to spread Yiddishkeit, which I trust you continue as before, and in a growing measure.

With blessing,
M. Schneerson

P. S. I don’t believe that now, the next 3-4 months, is the proper time for investing several hundreds of thousands of $ in buildings.
