Chazal say, that when a person gives thanks to Hashem on the past, he must immediately be Mispallel (pray) for the future. As it says in the Gemoroh in Brochos 54. “One must thank on the past and shout for the future”. And when Leah only gave a thanks on the past and not immediately Daven for the future, therefore, it was “Vatamod miledes”.
