Chanah – The Three Special Womens Mitzvos

Living Moshiach | December 10, 2025

The sixth of Tishrei, which is between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, is the Yahrtzeit of Rebbetzin Chanah, mother of the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita, may he be parted for good life. On Rosh Hashanah we read the prayer of Chanah, which speaks about Moshiach. The name Chanah stands for the three special women’s Mitzvos, upon which the Jewish People depend: Challah – making sure the family eats Kosher food, Niddah – family purity and Hadlakas Haneir – lighting Shabbos and Yom Tov candles. Through these Mitzvos, the Jewish women correct what the sin of the tree of knowledge did to Adam, who was the “Challah, blood and candle of the world”. The Jewish People were redeemed from Egypt in the merit of the righteous women, and will be redeemed through Moshiach in the merit of the righteous women.
