Chassidus in the PMs Office

Living Jewish | December 10, 2025

A special pre-Rosh Hashana ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, bringing together staff members in preparation for the new year.

The event was led by Rabbi Or Ziv, Chabad Shliach in Katamon, Jerusalem, who has maintained a warm connection with the office staff. As reported, he was instrumental in coordinating the moment when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu famously put on Tefillin for the first time in a documented setting.

Rabbi Ziv has also established a Chassidus study group there, which continues to this day with a regular weekly class.

During the gathering, Rabbi Ziv affixed a new mezuzah, addressed the participants with insights from Chassidus on the meaning of the month of Elul and the preparations for Rosh Hashana, and also sounded the shofar. One particularly moving moment was when a large portrait of the Rebbe was hung on the wall of one of the conference rooms during the event.

Since then, employees have been able to benefit from the Rebbe’s teachings and actively participate in the Rebbe’s mitzvah campaigns.
