Trusting Hashem is a Segulah for Parnassah:
The Lisker Rebbe zy”a (Sefer Ach Pri Tevuah) explains this pasuk by noting that Hashem’s name of “Elokim” has the same gematriah as the word “teva”, nature. He states that it is known that if a person attempts to live a “natural” life, he is not assured that he will have sufficient livelihood and that he will not lack sustenance. If, however, a person places his trust in Hashem, he will lack nothing, as is clearly stated in the Chovos Halevavos, Shaar Habitachon.
From the story of Yosef, it was obvious that Hashem guides every detail of this world. The Shevatim sold him as a slave, yet Hashem orchestrated events to make him into a king, which led to the Shevatim being provided with food to eat during the years of hunger. This chain of events clearly displayed that Hashem is in charge of all occurrences and that He rules over “nature.“
Thus, when he said that Elokim sent him to Egypt before the brothers in order to provide sustenance, he was saying that Hashem’s rule over nature – which is represented by the name “Elokim” – sent him to this land in order to display how He provides for all those who trust in Him.
