In truth, we must realize that the splendor Hashem receives from us varies depending on how we view our avodah. Although Hashem takes pride in every Jew even if we never think about this reality, His main nachas is when we awaken ourselves from below to be aware that Hashem wants us and is proud of us. This accomplishes the purpose of Creation: to reveal Hashem’s Kingship to the world through the actions of His holy nation.
The primary goal of doing mitzvos is to reveal the splendor Hashem has from us and to always remember that we give Hashem great pleasure. Through these thoughts, we strengthen and illuminate all the higher and lower worlds, since we reveal the very purpose of their existence: for Hashem to receive nachas from us.
This is the main way for us to become holy. When we realize that the renewal of Hashem’s Kingship in the world depends on our thoughts, we will purify our minds to think about yiras Shamayim and awaken the light of emunah in our hearts. We will be empowered to maintain a connection to Hashem when we are involved in worldly matters that tend to distract us from our ultimate purpose. We will hear the voice of kedushah in our hearts that warns us not to get lost in material distractions, since we can give Hashem incredible joy with every positive movement we make. We will find the strength to overcome all the tests that we face and sanctify all our actions.
