I stood outside Zichron Moshe shul in Yerushalayim and I saw Rebbe Mori HaRav Gamliel Rabinovitz get off a scooter and thank the driver for the ride... After davening I asked him about this, and he told me that he had hashgacha pratis: “I asked Hashem for a ride to shul, and just then the owner of the scooter stopped right by me, and offered me a ride. In this merit I was able to daven with the minyan that I like to daven with, and if not for this, I would have had to daven at another minyan.”
In the afternoon I saw the Rav walking to yeshiva. I accompanied him and asked him why he did not get a ride?! The Rav replied with a smile, “I asked Hashem for a ride, but HaKadosh Baruch Hu told me with a smile that this time because He loves me very much, and He wanted me to get the reward for walking which is very good for me now!!! If HaKadosh Baruch Hu would send a car then I would thank Him, and if HaKadosh Baruch Hu does not send one, then I also thank Him!!! HaKadosh Baruch Hu only does what is good for us, even in a situation where we do not understand, we must thank and see the good!!!”
I received a mussar talk and a way to look at the ways of Hashem even if this is not exactly what I want...
