Pesikta Rabbati Piska 36

מגדל אור | December 07, 2025

Rabbi Yitzchak stated in the year that the Messianic King is revealed, all the Kings of the nations will be provoking each other in a hostile fashion.

The King of Persia provokes against the Arabian King, and the King of Arabia goes to Edom to get advice from them; and then the Persian King reacts and destroys the entire world.

At that time, all the nations of the world will be trembling and afraid, and fall on their faces. Pangs will seize them that are similar to birth pangs, and Israel will also be trembling and frightened. The Jews will cry out, “To where will go and to where will we arrive?” and Hashem will say to them, “My children! Do not be afraid. All that I have done, I have only done on your account. Why are you scared? Do not fear, the time of your redemption has arrived!”

Not like the first redemption is the last redemption; for the first redemption was followed by pain and the subjugation to kingdoms afterwards, but in the final redemption, you will have no pain and subjugation to kingdoms afterwards.

When we see the world turning against us, and we begin to fear, we must remind ourselves that all this is happening FOR us, not TO us. The nations of the world will destroy each other, and Klal Yisrael, which has been humbled for so long, will finally inherit the earth.

Thought of the week:

Faith is not the absence of fear, but the courage to move forward in spite of it.
