The Worst Tragedies Can Turn into The Biggest Yeshuos

SAY “ADERABA!” AND YOU CAN SEE GREAT YESHUOS

The Ramban says that Yaakov wanted to name Binyamin the same name as Rochel named him, except that she called him: בֶּן אוֹנִּי לָמִּשׁוֹן ינוּנִּ אַת וְאַבֵילוּת the son of my pain and mourning, and Yaakov switched: אוֹנִּי “pain” with “strength” (as it says by Reuven: רֵאשִּית אוֹנִּי ויחי מט ג my first strength). He called him “Binyamin” which means “the son of strength” (because “Yemin”, the right hand, includes all strength and success). And the Radak interprets Binyamin as: בֶּן חָבִּיב my precious son, since he was a: בֶּן זְקוּנִּים son of his old age. And some say Binyamin means: בֶּן זָמַהַ ל הַטוֹב “the son with good fortune”.

The Medrash says that from all the Tzaros he suffered throughout his life, the loss of his wife Rochel was the most difficult hardship for Yaakov.

Look how Yaakov reacts to the worst tragedy of his difficult life! Look how he changes the sad name of: בֶּן אוֹנִּי “son of my pain” into total positivism. We know that the Bais Hamikdash was: לְחֶּבְקוֹ שֶּ לבִּנְיָמִּין in the territory of Binyamin. We can suggest that perhaps this is exactly what the Bais Hamikdash is: A place where the worst tragedies turn into the biggest Yeshuos. Like it says in the Haggadah Shel Pesach, that the final and greatest “accomplishment” is being in the Bais Hamikdash: לְכַפֵר עַל כָל עֲוֹנוֹתֵינוּ to be M'chaper on all of our Aveiros.

The worst tragedy is a sin, and the Bais Hamikdash converts a sin into the greatest Simcha. Similarly: בְמָקוֹם שֶּבַעֲלֵי תְשׁוּבָה עוֹמְדִּים אֵין צַדִּיקִּים גְמוּרִּים יְכוֹלִּין לַעֲמוֹד (Berachos 34b) Baalei Teshuva are even GREATER than pure Tzaddikim! Indeed, a Chet is like: מִּיתָה death, as it says: הַנֶּפֶּש הַחֹטֵאת הִּיא תָמוּת (Yechezkel 18:4) the soul of the sinner shall die, and doing Teshuva is the hope and the life of every human. We wonder: How did Yaakov Avinu become so positive, despite so much evil he experienced in his life?

Surely he lived a life of Bitachon, and he always said Gam Zu L'tovah. Notice how as soon as: וַיִּשְטֹם עֵשָו אֶּת יַעֲקֹב (27:41) Eisav starts hating him, he runs away, and he has the most unusual: גַתְהִּלוּת revelation of: מַלְאֲכֵי הַשָרֵת Malachim and a Gevaldige Nevua. And then comes the most beautiful family with twelve Shevotim.

And right after Lavan chases him, again he meets: מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹקִּים Malachim. And when Eisav is actually at the verge of killing him, and: וְאַרְבַע מֵאוֹת אִּיש עִּמוֹ (32:7) coming at him with four hundred men, again he encounters a Malach and overpowers him! And he gets a new name Yisroel, which is the most incredible accomplishment and Aliya of his life! No wonder he sees only good at the birth of Binyamin. And the fact that Rochel was Niftar, which was his worst pain, only means that the most unusual goodness is forthcoming. And indeed, the Bais Hamikdash was: לְחֶּבְקוֹ שֶּ לבִּנְיָמִּין in the territory of Binyamin.

I have many stories where I saw loads of sadness, and insisted in saying Aderaba and I saw great Yeshuos.

My Latest Miracle

I just hung up from a family who have several children, but for years nothing is happening (וַתַעֲמֹד מִּלֶּדֶּת ויצא כט לה she stopped having children), despite their many Tefilos. I told them to totally stop asking, and instead to thank for what they do have. After two weeks of only thanking for the normal, healthy children that they do have, his wife became pregnant. The Tefilos were said at the end of Shmoneh Esrei. I was told that he said that: “No matter what, this time we will listen to whatever R’ Mandel says.”

I have plenty of Yeshuos where the people had zero Emuna in my Koach HaBracha, yet they had big miracles. However, sometimes it may be worth your while to decide to be firmly M'vatel your Daas to my advice and Brachos. (This is not the first time I saw big Yeshuos when they are M'vatel Daas). You can probably do this with anybody, including yourself. And at least make believe that this will work (for sure!) with Hashem’s help. Notice how Eisav appears to be an appreciative person when he says: יֶּש לִּי רָב (33:9) I have plenty. But by many of us, we need to be total Yaakov and say: יֶּש לִּי כֹל (33:11) I have EVERYTHING, or else our Yetzer Hara of always being dissatisfied may be the reason why Hashem isn’t giving us our desires, even if they are in Ruchaniyus.
