The Bais Aharon of Karlin zy”a (in his sefer on Pesach) uses this idea to explain the Medrash (Yalkut, Remez 233) that says that after Hashem asked Moshe why he was crying out to him (Shemos 14:15), Moshe replied, “What else should I do?” Hashem then told him, “You should sing to Me and praise the One who is royal!”
This can be understood to mean that when a person needs something from Hashem, such as a refuah or success in business, it is natural for him to recite Tehillim. While one is saying Tehillim, he has in mind to ask Hashem for whatever it is that he needs. However, Dovid Hamelech said (Tehillim 18:4): “With praise I call to Hashem and from my enemies I will be saved.” The Ibn Ezra explains that when he needed help from Hashem in order to be saved from his enemies, he did not ask Him for anything. He simply praised Him and connected to Him and, in this way, he was saved from his enemies without even asking for it.
Therefore, Hashem told Moshe not to ask Him for anything. Rather, He told him to simply sing to Him and praise Him. In this way, He would connect to Him and receive whatever he needs.
This is the best advice one can give a person who is need of a yeshua. He should not think about himself and focus solely on davening for what he needs. Rather, he should emulate Dovid Hamelech and focus on praising and thanking Hashem. After he creates this connection, his yeshua will arrive.
