Today marks the anniversary of the passing of the Maggid of Mezritch in 5533 (1772). His resting place is in Anipoli.
On this Day
Additionally, today marks the anniversary of the release of the Alter Rebbe from his first imprisonment in 5559 (1798).
On this Day
Yud-Tes Kislev is referred to as the Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus, Chag Hachagim, and the Matan Torah of penimiyus hatorah.
“Yud-Tes Kislev is the holiday in which our souls were redeemed in peace, and the light and chayus of our souls were given to us. Today is the Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus, which our holy ancestors bequeathed to us.”
