5737-1976, in a message transmitted by Rabbi Ephraim Wolff, a leading Chabad activist in Israel, the Rebbe encouraged Israeli rabbis and leaders, with special emphasis on the leaders of the Georgian Jewish community, to help people fulfill the mitzvot of Sukkot: shaking the lulav and eating in a sukkah. In particular, the Rebbe suggested that sukkot near synagogues have a lulav and some food available for drop-ins.
