True Love of Israel

The small grocery store in the Shaarei Chesed neighborhood was a small grocery store, like in the old days. A small room containing basic products, fresh milk that arrives every morning, a few breads, and hot rolls. The grocery store owner and his wife, even though they were already in their aging years, served as a shopkeeper and the arranger of the shelves, at the same time...

One day, the grocery store owner passed away, and his elderly wife. Was left alone to carry on. She was mainly concerned with one question: who would help her carry the heavy crates of milk from where they were placed on the sidewalk into the store. To her surprise, the problem was solved before it was even created, she noticed that the milk was placed at the entrance to the store every morning, and in her heart, she complimented the milk distributor for her consideration and understanding...At the end of the month, when the milk distributor came to collect his bill, she thanked him warmly for his consideration and effort. But the milk distributor shrugged his shoulders, not understanding what it was about. 'Sorry,' he said with some embarrassment, 'but I've been putting the milk in the same place for 28 years. For the past month, too, I have continued to place the milk in its remote place on the sidewalk, so the thank you – is not mine!' The widow was very surprised, and the next day she got up, and stood at five o'clock in the morning in a corner far from the store, to see who the stranger was that continued and who came to drag the crates of milk from the corner of the sidewalk to the entrance of the store. She stood at a distance and watched,

and suddenly she noticed an older, slight Jew approaching the place, looking to and fro so that no one could see him, and begin to carry the crates of milk from the sidewalk to the door of the store...When he finished his work, she approached him, and with her mouth wide open in astonishment, she discovered that he was none other than the greatest and greatest of the generation: the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach zt"l! She was shocked and amazed, and could barely get a word out. "Honorable Rabbi! Thank you! But why? Why does the rabbi bother so much every morning to carry the heavy crates of milk?! " After all, your husband has passed away, and who will now carry the crates of milk from the sidewalk to the entrance of the store?" – he said, and fled the scene...

Because the older a person is, the more his view of others expands, the more he is able to care, the more caring, the more aware of the feelings and needs of others.

Let us adopt this way of looking at others from a broader perspective, thinking about what hurts them and what bothers them, what bothers them and what bothers them, so that we will be able to help them in real time and express true love!
