Likutei Sichos, vol 32, Shmini, Rabbi Chaim Wolosow
https://www.torahrecordings.com/likutei-sichos/032/006_001 This Sicha focuses on the unusual wording in Vayikra 9:9 and 9:12 where Rashi addresses the term "וַיַּמְצִיאוּ" (vayamtziu). The "Rashi" Question Rashi defines vayamtziu as "לשון הושטה והזמנה"—an expression of reaching out/handing over and preparation. The Rebbe asks two main questions: Why the change in wording? In earlier verses regarding the Chatas (Sin Offering), the Torah uses the word vayikrivu ("they brought near"). Why, by the Olah (Burnt Offering), does it switch to vayamtziu? Why the double language? Rashi usually provides one definition. Why does he use two terms here: reaching out (הושטה) and preparing (הזמנה)?
