Learn mussar! And not just any mussar, but rather specifically the bits and pieces that bring you joy (like mussar on bitachon). Rebbi Yisrael Salanter z"l said that mussar b'hispa'alus (the study of mussar with "inspiration", like a soft niggun) is actually very similar to an act of prophecy (nevuah) (Ohr Yisrael).

With mussar (when done in the right way), a person connects with his true inner-self, and with that he connects with Hashem in a real and positive way. Once he does that, the rest is history! Be ready to take over the world! And like it says in Mishlei (4:13): Don't ever give up that mussar sefer!
