Renewal and Knowledge: The Ultimate Unity

[Similar to that which is explained elsewhere regarding that which our sages say, “Every day they shall be as new in your eyes” with the ‘Chof Hadimyon’ and thereby afterwards they become Mamosh new!]

And as a result of the completion of the וְאֵרַשְתִּיךְ לִּי לְעוֹלָם “And I will betroth you to Me forever”. And the other levels of וְאֵרַשְתִּיךְ as mentioned earlier can we come to the וְיָדַעַתְ אֶת־הֲוָיָ׳׃ “And you shall know Hashem”. This concept of Da’as – knowledge, is the ultimate unity of ‘Nissuin’ which is the concept of knowledge.

Elsewhere: In Likutei Sichos Chelek 24 page 193 on the Possuk in the Shema: וְהָיוּ הַדְבָרִּים הָאֵלֶה אֲשֶר אָָֽנֹכִּי מְצַוְּךָ הַיוֹם עַל־לְבָבֶךָ “And these words, which I command you this day, shall be upon your heart” on the words: “which I command you this day”, Rashi says: They should not appear to you as an antiquated edict (דְיוּטַגְמָא) which no one cares about, but כחדשה as a new one, which everyone hastens to read. The word דְיוּטַגְמָא means: a royal edict which comes in writing. (Sifrei) Whereas in Parshas Ki Sovoi (26:16) the Possuk states: הַיוֹם הַזֶה ה׳ אֱלֹקֶיךָ מְצַוְּךָ לַעֲשוֹת אֶת־הַחֻקִּים הָאֵלֶה וְאֶת־הַמִּשְפָטִּים וְשָמַרְתָ וְעָשִּיתָ אוֹתָם בְכָל־לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָ ל־נַפְשֶךָ “This day, hashem, your G-d, is commanding you to fulfil these statutes and ordinances, and you will observe and fulfil them with all your heart and with all your soul”. And Rashi says on the words הַיוֹם הַזֶה ה׳ אֱלֹקֶיךָ: Every day, you shall regard the commandments as if they are חדשים brand new, as though you are just today being commanded regarding them! - [Tanchuma 1]. So here Rashi says חדשים without the ‘Chof Hadimyon’ also in Parshas Yisro בַחֹדֶש הַשְלִּישִּי לְצֵאת בְנֵי־יִּשְרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ מִּצְרָיִּם בַיוֹם הַזֶה בָאוּ מִּדְבַר סִּינָי “In the third month of the children of Israel's departure from Egypt, on this day they arrived in the desert of Sinai” and on the words ‘on this day’ Rashi says: On the New Moon (Mechilta, Shab. 86b). It could have said only, “on that day.” What is the meaning of "on this day"? That the words of the Torah shall be חדשים new to you, as if they were given just today. — [from Tanchuma Buber, p. 73]. Again here Rashi says חדשים without the ‘Chof Hadimyon’. The reason is because in Parshas Yisro and in Parshas ki Sovoi that the Possuk says Hayom Hazeh or Bayom Hazeh it highlights that it is referring to the day of Matan Torah where there is a tremendous revelation and it is Chadoshim Mamosh as you can point with your finger and say ‘this one’ because it can be seen in front of your eyes. Whereas in parshas vo’eschanan which it just says Hayom but not Hazeh it refers to the Matan Torah of every day and therefore the revelation is not as great and therefore only כחדשה as a new one.
