The Power of Acceptance to Bring Shefah

In these incredible words of the Chasam Sofer, we see that when a person gives thanks for his challenges—despite the fact that they hurt him—but he is mechazek himself again and again... he constantly fulfills the dictum that “the remedy for yissurim is acceptance”—through this he tethers himself to HaKadosh Baruch Hu. His heart becomes very close to the Ribbono shel Olam, and soon the yeshuah comes to him in a far greater way than he would ever have effected through his tefillos.

These are the two benefits of tefillah together with bitachon:

1. Accepting yissurim b’ahavah transforms them into revealed good.
2. Accepting yissurim b’ahavah paves the way for our tefillos, because we become closer to Hashem through this process—enabling the shefah and the yeshuah to come.
